An award evening
for our students takes place in the following year of study. The
music market is a competitive one, therefore students are prepared for
the competitions from the course. A place is selected for the evening
and relatives and friends are invited as well as some music industry
professionals and journalists.
There are various
prizes and awards to be received for performance through the course.
Progress, attendance, assignment punctuality, participation in class,
dedication to follow and practice what is taught are the basis on which
the awards are given.
Songs done through
the course are presented live or played to the audience. Everyone gets
to hear the students songs wriiten through the course. Publishing
opportunities on selected songs are also offered as awards prize.
All awards are
presented by a hit singer-songwriter with signature in
recognition of achievement.
Hanka Bachledova (see photo
below)
was a diligent student winning the Shaddap & Write Award from the hand of Joe Dolce,
No 1. hit singer-songwriter who has sold more records in a year on an
international level than any other singles released in the history of
Australian music for over 30 years, with Shaddap You Face. The Shaddap
and Write Award is one that will remind the winner that it only takes a
great thought, written down the marketable way which is our method, and
perseverance.
